Comparison of the damage characteristics of different test tracks
Fraunhofer ITWM
SCHMITZ CARGOBULL AG has extensive knowlegde about the test track, which is used as a reference: its characteristics and its special features- especially how to evaluate its results in relation to the different operational use of the customers. However, since time on these tracks is limited, additional tests on other test tracks have to be used for complementary testing. Because these test tracks are not identic, the results can't be translated one-to-one.
Based on the results of test drives on both test tracks, we want to gain experience about the comparibility of different loads using load data analysis. The testing scenario on the second track is modified in a way that comparibility of the load characteristics is possible.
For a selected number of measurement points, acceleration and extensions are measured on the different sections of the test tracks. The data is used to calculate and compare durability relevant collectives, e.g. rainflow. By varying the proportion of different sections in the test cycle on the alternative test track (with the help of special optimization methods) a good agreement of the load characteristics can be achieved.
Results from different test tracks can only be compared if the characteristics of the loads are similar.
