Material Analysis

Chemical substances can be detected and identified using spectroscopic methods.

The Primary Methods Used Are:

  • Terahertz spectroscopy
  • Hyperspectral imaging
  • NIR spectroscopy
  • Fluorescence measurement

Each of these techniques has its individual advantages and disadvantages. Depending on the requirements, our experts select the appropriate measurement technique.

Material Characterization Is Often Based on Spectroscopic Tasks:

  • Identifying and distinguishing materials
  • Determining specific characteristics such as moisture or sugar content

Example Projects

Terahertz Mail Scanner

Letter and parcel bombs are a constant hazard of our time. Consequently, there is a demand for improved inspection of postal deliveries, which does not involve breaching the inviolability of the mail.

Hyperspectral Imaging for Ripe Tomatoes

Using hyperspectral imaging, we determine, for example, the BRIX or sugar content of tomatoes, which allows conclusions to be drawn about the degree of ripeness.

ASKIVIT

In the project »ASKIVIT« we dedicate ourselves to the automated sorting of bulky waste in order to obtain wood materials and non-ferrous metals. Among other things, our experience in the field of terahertz imaging is helping here.
