International Conference on Scientific Computation and Differential Equations
International Conference on Scientific Computation and Differential Equations
SciCADE, the International Conference on Scientific Computation and Differential Equations, will be hosted by the University of Innsbruck, Austria, July 22 - 26, 2019. SciCADE is a biennial meeting that focuses on scientific computation using numerical methods for ordinary and partial differential equations, differential algebraic equations, stochastic differential equations and dynamical systems, among others.
Our expert Michael Burger will give a presentation on Monday, 22 July 2019 at 11:30 - 12:00 on the subject »Iterative Learning Control with Automotive Applications«.
In this talk, we consider so-called iteraive learning control (ILC) schemes, especially tailored to trajectory tracking. That is, given a desired reference trajectory as well as a dynamical system, the task is to find a control that lets specific system outputs follow the reference trajectory as close as possible. ILC methods solve this task with an iterative procedure that exploits the results of previous step(s) (learning) and a mathematical model of the considered system, for which a corresponding optimal control problem is solved repeatedly. We consider model descriptions in ODE-/DAE-form and present a function space solution method. We discuss model imperfections and the use of iteration-domain approaches as well as surrogate models (e.g. neural nets). There are many fields, in which ILC techniques have been applied successfully – here, we focus on vehicle engineering and automotive applications.
