Annual Conference of the German Society of Criminology 2024

»Facets of White-Collar Crime« – Challenges for State and Private Investigators

The annual conference of the German Society of Criminology (DGFK) will take place in Nuremberg on November 4 and 5, 2024. Entitled »Facets of White-Collar Crime – Challenges for State and Private Investigators«, the conference will shed light on a global problem that is often overlooked: White-collar crime.

In addition to state investigators such as the police, public prosecutors and customs, private investigators such as business detectives and lawyers are also addressed.

In the »PflegeForensik« project, our researchers from the »Image Processing« and »Financial Mathematics« departments are working with the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office and the Leipzig Police Department's Economic Crime Investigation Unit to develop AI software that supports the authorities in prosecuting fraud and minimizing the damage to insurance companies.

Our expert Yannick Becker from the department »Financial Mathematics« will be on site to give a presentation on the topic of »Pattern Recognition in Care Billing Fraud« (Mustererkennung im Pflegeabrechnungsbetrug).
