Porous media occur in many natural and industrial systems, such as groundwater pipes and oil and gas reservoirs, but also in fuel cells, textiles and polymer composites. The International Society for Porous Media (InterPore) deals with these media. The aim of the non-profit association is to promote and disseminate the knowledge needed to understand, describe and model natural and industrial porous systems.

The annual meeting provides a common platform for researchers working on the modelling of flows and transport in complex porous media. At the conference, all interested parties have the opportunity to exchange their results with colleagues about the work in the field of porous media and develop ideas together.
