Pre-Stack PRO is an application for fast processing, visualization and conditioning of full survey pre-stack seismic data.
In 2010 Pre-Stack PRO has seen its first commercial release and is used today by several customers from the oil & gas industry ranging from mid-sized processing companies to global players like Marathon Oil.
Typically, datasets with a couple of hundreds of Gigabyte up to several Terabyte are processed, but Pre-Stack PRO is the first application available, that allows interactive work on such datasets.

- The Pre-Stack PRO architecture
Pre-Stack PRO is separated into a standalone user interface and a computation application. This is one of the key elements for the interactivity of our software. While the user interface can be run on almost every linux system (e.g. on notebooks, desktop computers, ...), the computation application is a parallel program for large Infiniband-clusters.
The two components communicate with each other via generic TCP/IP networking which allows working remotly on datasets that are stored on a computation cluster from anywhere in the world. The computation application itself uses a hybrid communication scheme. For infrequent data exchange of control messages TCP/IP is used, while for high volume, high frequency data exchange the Fraunhofer Virtual Machine is used.
The use of this architecture, together with some other optimizations, allows a user to work with the algorithms for seismic processing in Pre-Stack PRO interactively with optimal performance.
