The Software-Cluster is an association of innovative companies and research institutions located in and around the key software development centers Darmstadt, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe and Saarbruecken. In addition to an increased networking, the main task of the Software-Cluster is the methodical research and the technical development of software solutions for digital companies in an Internet society.

Within the Software-Cluster, we cooperate with the proALPHA Software AG. In this cooperation we develop models and optimization algorithms for production planning and scheduling problems where robustness and flexibility are critical issues. Furthermore, the investigation and implementation of innovative concepts for adaptive staff rostering are the topics of a second cooperation with the SIEDA GmbH.
