MINT-EC Math-Talent-School 2023

What Do Mathematicians Actually Do?

This is what 37 students from all over Germany can experience at our institute! We have invited them to our largest Math Talent School to date, where they can work with our experts on various projects in applied mathematics. The workshop will take place from October 23th to 27th and is organized together with the Felix-Klein-Center for Mathematics.

All participants are students from a German MINT-EC School. This is an international network of schools that places particular emphasis on science education. In order to participate in the Math-Talent-School, they all had to submit an application with a letter of motivation. We then selected 37 students from over 80 submissions.

Projects Offer Plenty of Choice

Together with supervisors from the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) and the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU), the participants work on exciting and current mathematical projects.

A wide range of topics is available for the students:

In addition to quantum computing and prime numbers, the topics include the spread of diseases, calculating body fat percentage using linear regression or the intelligent production of nonwovens fabric and the ideal selection of a location for your own start-up.
