The kick-off event for the German Biotechnology Days 2024 will take place on April 15 at the Rhineland-Palatinate State Representation to the Federal Government and the European Union in Berlin. 

Improving healthcare, increasing the chances of recovery, supporting diagnoses, optimizing production – these are all goals that the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and we want to achieve with results from research in medicine and biotechnology. As the Institute for Applied Mathematics, we focus in particular on smart tools, algorithms and artificial intelligence for decision-making, whether in therapy planning or care. However, we also support pharmaceutical companies in optimizing their production processes with our mathematics, for example to produce personalized pharmaceuticals. We also help authorities to automatically classify and analyze data in order to make processes and assessments faster and better. 

Our head of the institute and AI pilot for mobility for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel, will be on site and will give a short presentation on the topic of »Risks and Opportunities from the Perspective of AI«.
