Girls'Day @ Fraunhofer ITWM

A Day as a Mathematician

Girls'Day is a nationwide orientation day for girls to find out about careers and study programmes. It is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

It provides practical experience in professions and fields of study in which the proportion of women is currently below 40 percent. There are many career opportunities at our institute that have so far mainly been taken up by men. We want to change that! Girls'Day therefore supports the initiative »Klischeefrei«. The aim of the initiative is to establish a career and study choice free of gender stereotypes throughout Germany.

We will give you an insight into the work at our institute and experts will present exciting projects and report on the everyday life of female mathematicians.

You can also take part in a rally on Girls' Day, where you will not only have to solve a riddle at the end, but also win something. At the same time, you will get to know our institute and projects during a guided tour. Register via the platform!
