Lightweight TechTalk of the Aachen Centre for Integrative Lightweight Design (AZL)
On 16 November, the Aachen Centre for Integrative Lightweight Design (AZL) will be holding a digital lightweight TechTalk. The TechTalk will focus on the digitalisation, hybridisation and functionalisation of high-performance sheet moulding compounds (SMC) and is aimed at the international lightweight construction community and other interested parties.
Our expert Dr Hannes Grimm-Strele from the department »Flow and Material Simulation« will give a presentation entitled »Optical Measurement of Fiber Orientation and Its Influence on the Mechanical Behavior« together with Dominic Schommer from the Leibniz-Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe GmbH and present our work in the field of »Lightweight Construction«.
An important lightweight construction project is our EU project »ALMA« (Advanced Light Materials and Processes for the Eco-Design of Electric Vehicles). Together with eight other European organisations, we are working on developing more energy-efficient and sustainable vehicles. Our team is providing support with mathematical simulation expertise.
