The ISC High Performance Conference and Exhibition 2026 is an international forum that brings together experts from research, industry, and business to discuss high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and quantum computing. The goal of the event is to promote global exchange of knowledge, innovation, and collaboration in these sectors.

Our experts Dr. Jens Krüger, Dr. Franz-Josef Pfreund, and Dr. Daniel Grünwald from the “High Performance Computing” department will present their innovations in the research areas of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, scalable computing, and next-generation storage systems. The latest developments in parallel high-performance file systems will be showcased by our researchers together with colleagues from our Fraunhofer spin-off ThinkParQ.

Our Topics

GaspiLS

GaspiLS is our scalable iterative solver library for high-performance CFD and FEM simulations, which efficiently accelerates industrial applications in exascale computing.

GPI

The Global Address Space Programming Interface (GPI) is a parallel programming interface for asynchronous communication and direct memory access in modern high-performance computing and supercomputing systems.

GPI-Space

GPI-Space is our scalable programming platform for parallel and distributed high-performance applications, which separates development and execution and thus enables efficient parallel processing on high-performance systems.

GaspiCxx

GaspiCxx is our C++ interface for GPI-2 for efficient, scalable communication and parallel execution on supercomputing systems, complemented by the Python extension PyGPI for easy use.

NASE

NASE (Neural Architecture Search with Hardware-in-the-Loop) is an agent-based AI system for the automated, hardware-aware optimization of AI models for edge and embedded platforms.

CARME

Carme combines machine learning with an HPC backend and provides an open multi-user software stack for interactive, GPU-based machine learning on high-performance computing systems.

STX

Our STX processor card combines PCIe 5 and STX chiplets for bandwidth-intensive simulations and enables high-performance, abstracted programming via C++/OpenMP.

MCS

Memory Centric Storage (MCS) is our open-source toolbox for scalable HPC storage management with a unified interface, zero-copy access, and near-data computation offloading.

Quantum Computing

In this focus area, we are working on new algorithms and software for the use of quantum computing. The interplay between quantum computing and high-performance computing is particularly interesting in this context.
