Prof. Dr. Arnd Poetzsch-Heffter sees his role as presenting Kaiserslautern as a center for business and technology: »I want to attract new companies to Lautern and show them why this location is so strong. At the same time, however, the companies that are already here should be more aware of what the city has to offer – and the city itself should know how great it is. We are facing major challenges as a world, whether through climate change, political developments, or disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics. In the next ten to twenty years, there will be unimaginable technologies. We must help shape this process in such a way that people and society can go along with it.«
Frank G. Froux, founder and CEO of matelso GmbH, speaks from an entrepreneur's perspective: »I grew up as a European in Lautern, founded my company in Stuttgart, and then relocated it to Kaiserslautern – because it was simply the better location alternative. For me, Kaiserslautern is proof of what can work. Kaiserslautern is an opportunity.« Froux is a specialist in marketing technologies and the founder and CEO of matelso GmbH, which was launched in 2006.
Mayor Kimmel sums up what the role entails and what is expected: »The number one task is to speak positively about Kaiserslautern! We need to generate enthusiasm for the future.«
