DLseis

The project »Deep Learning for Large Seismic Applications« (DLseis) deals with basic research up to ready-to-use deep learning tools for seismic applications.

Seismic Imaging

The seismic reflection method computes an image of the Earth's subsurface, which enables geologists to identify the locations of oil and natural gas fields.

Seismic Prestack-Depth Migration GRT

The project on »Generalized Radon Transform« (GRT) depth migration excellently demonstrates how the unified competence in the fields of geophysics, mathematics, and informatics of the department HPC could be used for the successful development of a tailor-made product according to client's particular needs.

Quantum Computing

In this focus, we are working on new algorithms and software for the use of Quantum Computing. The interplay between Quantum Computing and High Performance Computing is interesting.

STX – Stencil- and Tensor Accelerator

The Stencil and Tensor Accelerator (STX) is a project – led by a team from Fraunhofer ITWM – in which we are developing energy-efficient supercomputer systems with European technology together with our partners.
