To provide more targeted support to emergency responders in aerial firefighting, our researchers are collaborating with CAURUS Technologies GmbH to develop a machine-learning system that analyzes the fire situation in real time and calculates the optimal time for water drops.

The development of AI models for embedded and edge platforms is challenging, as freely available models often do not run efficiently on the target hardware. Our software Neural Architecture Search with Hardware in the Loop (NASE-HiL) automatically optimizes AI models directly for the respective hardware instead of manually adapting them. The reform of pension provision is also placing greater focus on research. Our experts in the department »Financial Mathematics« develop models and simulations for more transparent pension products and better consumer protection. Their work includes capital market simulations, models for assessing opportunities and risks, and new approaches to pension provision for the future.

We have entered into a new strategic partnership with SuperQ to jointly investigate and further develop hybrid quantum and classical optimization solutions for industrial applications. The aim of the cooperation is to test innovative quantum approaches in practice and to tap into new potential for the European market.
