New Mathematics for Retirement Planning

The reform of pension provision is also placing greater focus on research. Our experts in the department »Financial Mathematics« develop models and simulations for more transparent pension products and better consumer protection. We have entered into a new strategic partnership with SuperQ to jointly investigate and further develop hybrid quantum and classical optimization solutions for industrial applications. The aim of the cooperation is to test innovative quantum approaches in practice and to tap into new potential for the European market.

More Computing Power, Less Complexity

In a presentation, our colleague Kai Plociennik explains how complex simulations can be performed faster without complicated programming. Using a multi-hierarchy offloading implementation with OpenMP, computing operations are offloaded across multiple levels of heterogeneous hardware without leaving the familiar OpenMP programming model.

C++ User Group Kaiserslautern

Our »High Computing Performance« department initiates and organizes a user group meeting at Fraunhofer ITWM to discuss topics related to C++ programming and the associated tooling environments (e.g., compilers, build tools). In addition to presentations and open discussion rounds, workshops and tutorials are also planned. The meetings offer participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with each other. Anyone interested in the C++ programming language is invited to attend the user group meetings, whether they are students, doctoral candidates, professors, or software developers.
