Public Event

To mark the »750th Anniversary of Kaiserslautern«, the Science and Innovation Alliance Kaiserslautern e. V. (SIAK) is hosting the »SIAK Innovation Day« on the anniversary stage in front of the Stiftskirche. The event brings together science, business, the startup community, and society, and – right in the heart of downtown Kaiserslautern on the anniversary stage in front of the Stiftskirche – showcases how innovations from Kaiserslautern are actively shaping the future.

As a member of the association, we are, of course, taking part! Our institute director, Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel, explores where mathematics can be found in our everyday lives. After all, it’s often right where you least expect it: in the production of cables, the development of tires and textiles, or the design of tomorrow’s mobility solutions – such as in public transit or on digital construction sites.

In her lecture, Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel takes the audience on an entertaining journey of discovery. Through quiz questions, surprising facts, and vivid examples from our research, she demonstrates how mathematics makes our everyday lives more efficient, sustainable, and smarter. An interactive presentation that brings science to life and opens up new perspectives on the world of mathematics.
