VIMS 2026

Symposium on Visually Induced Motion Sensations

The VIMS Symposium (Visually Induced Motion Sensations) is a scientific event that deals with sensations of motion and discomfort triggered by visual stimuli. It brings together researchers from around the world and provides a platform for exchange on real and virtual image worlds, the perception of self- and object motion, motion illusions, and various forms of motion sickness in which vision plays a central role (e.g., VR/cyber sickness or simulator sickness). In addition, issues of health and care, safety, performance and comfort, individual influencing factors, interactions, theoretical models, and practical applications in science and technology are discussed.

Our experts Dr. René Reinhard and Tim Nicolai from the »Mathematics for Vehicles, Systems and Production« are on site. Dr. René Reinhard gives a presentation entitled »Correlations of Motion Cueing Approaches and Motion Sickness Symptoms – An Interactive Driving Simulator Study«
