New Mathematics for AI Innovation
The »New Mathematics for AI Innovation« event at the Werner-von-Siemens Center for Industry and Science in Berlin brings together leading experts from industry and research to rethink the role of mathematics in artificial intelligence. The aim is to combine real challenges from practice with the latest mathematical methods and thus provide new impetus for research.
The German economy – especially start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises – seizing these opportunities and creates added value through innovative AI applications. This dynamic is also reflected in the growth of the German AI Association, which now represents over 500 companies with a focus on AI since it was founded in 2018. The close collaboration between research and practice is constantly gives rise to new, challenging issues – many of which have a mathematical core.
Fraunhofer Expertise on Site
Our colleague Dr. Henrike Stephani, as the speaker of the AI pilot, brings the perspective of the Fraunhofer ITWM to make mathematics more present in AI and to formulate the importance of mathematics for AI together with industrial companies. She also represents Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel, who as AI pilot is a strong voice for application-oriented mathematics in AI.
