Analysis of wood fiber insulation mats for simulating thermal conductivity

Description

Aim of the project Oho is to optimize the micro structure of highly porous wood fiber insulation mats. This is done based on 3D images. There are image data obtained from two sources. One is high resolution images obtained from ESRF with pixel size 0.65 \mu meter and another set of images obtained from ITWM Lab CT which is of pixel size 12.6 \mu meter. The lab CT images are low resolution images compared to the ESRF but it have better field of view which is important for the structural analysis. Hence high resolution images need to be obtained from the Lab CT images with reference to the ESRF images. Then analyze the geometric features of the food fibers from the obtained high resolution images. This will aid in finding the optimal parameters for the reduction of thermal conductivity of the wood fiber insulation mats.
