Image processing systems support quality assurance and have become an indispensable part of today's production. The seminar with  internship »Inspection and Characterization of Surfaces with Image Processing« consists of theory and practice. We are represented on site with a team from the department »Image Processing« and with lectures.

The inspection of surfaces is a classic field of industrial image processing and has been proven in many applications for many years. Advances in technology not only enable ever higher inspection speeds and more compact systems, but also, in addition to the evaluation of two-dimensionally recorded textures, the complete recording of complex 3D surface structures down to the nanometer range. Furthermore, the rapid evaluation of colored, patterned, transparent, highly reflective or mirroring surfaces is possible. Different inspection and analysis methods are presented in the seminar.
