Also in 2020, the Association for the Promotion of Computer Science at the TU Kaiserslautern (FIT e.V.) will be organizing a practical computer science day – but digitally.
At this day, experts from various companies will inform about the challenges of their work. The exhibitors will present themselves digitally in a common room and will also offer the opportunity to withdraw to a private area for individual discussions and video chats. This opens up opportunities for students to find out how they can continue their studies after graduation and shows what can be done during their studies to set the course for the future.
We are on site with teams of our departments »Optimization« and »High Performance Computing« and report on the work at our institute. At the Fraunhofer ITWM, 18 percent of computer scientists currently work in interdisciplinary teams together with mathematicians (56 percent), physicists (16 percent) and engineers (10 percent).
