KI2022 is a pan-European Artificial Intelligence (AI) conference and traditionally brings together academic and industrial researchers from all areas of AI and provides an opportunity for the exchange of news and research results on theory and applications. Our colleagues from the department »Image Processing« Dr. Katja Schladitz and Dr. Petra Gospodnetic organize and design a workshop in cooperation with the Technical University of Kaiserslautern (TUK).

The Driving Simulation Conference (DSC) brings together experts from industry and academia to discuss current trends in XIL and XR simulation for driver assistance systems, human factors, and motion rendering. Our experts from the »Mathematics for Vehicles, Systems and Production« division will be presenting a poster at the conference.

The workshop »Quantum versus Classical Optimization: Synergies and Boundaries« (QvC) takes place as part of the PPSN Conference. It focuses on the interplay between quantum-based and classical optimization methods, as well as their respective strengths and limitations, and brings researchers together to discuss new approaches to complex optimization problems. Our expert Dr. Pascal Halffmann, research coordinator of the field of application »Quantum Computing«, is a co-organizer of the workshop and contributes his expertise to the discussions.

The OR 2026 is an international conference on current developments in the field of decision optimization, designed to foster dialogue between academia and industry. Our expert Yannick Becker from the department »Financial Mathematics« attends the event and shares insights into the exact reduction of uncertainty sets in min-max regret optimization.

SMM 2026 is the world's leading trade fair for the maritime industry. This event provides a platform for companies, research institutions and experts from all over the world to present and discuss the latest innovations and technologies in the maritime sector. At the Fraunhofer-Waterborne community booth, our experts Erik Waller, Maris Bauer and Joachim Jonuscheit are on site with the topic »Terahertz Measurement Technology for Non-destructive Testing of Composites and Coating Thickness Measurement«, as well as our department »Transport Processes«, who are presenting our software tool »MESHFREE«.

Our experts Klara Hoffmann and Michael Rihlmann are represented at the 28th Annual Conference of the EURO Working Group on Transportation and present current work in the field of transport system analysis. The focus is on mathematical optimization methods for sustainable mobility, traffic reduction, and the planning of efficient transportation systems.

Once a year, the Felix Klein Academy organizes an autumn school for Felix Klein scholarship holders, focusing on mathematical modeling. Supported by mathematicians, students spend the week learning how to solve problems using mathematical modeling and computer simulations. At the end of the week, the groups present their results to the entire group.

Participants gain an overview of the key concepts, technologies, and business applications of Quantum Computing, along with insights into the current state of the development of quantum software and quantum hardware and future trends.
