Self-Programming Painting Cell for Industry 4.0
Under the name »SelfPaint«, a self-programming painting cell was developed, which covers the entire painting process from object recognition to spray simulations, path optimization and final thickness inspection. This enables the automated painting of lot-size-one products as well as the painting process optimization.
Fully automatic painting of tools or vehicle parts is the basis for cost-effective and high-quality production. So far, however, programming with a painting robot is only worthwhile for mass production. Self-programming painting cells, which were co-developed by our institute, now also paint individual parts fully automatically and simultaneously ensure quality control.
The services range from initial object detection and spray simulations to painting path optimization and final inspection of the coating thickness – the entire painting process is covered.
