At the 20th edition of TechTextil in Frankfurt am Main, international exhibitors will be showcasing the entire spectrum of technical textiles, nonwovens, functional apparel textiles and textile technologies. Texprocess, the leading trade fair for the apparel and textile processing industry, takes place parallel to TechTextil.

Our experts from the »Transport Processes« and »Flow and Material Simulation« departments will be there again this year.

At booth D45 in hall 12.0, they will be presenting their research, products and answering questions at the joint stand of the Fraunhofer TEXTIL research division.

At TechTextil, we are focusing in particular on the simulation and modeling of spinning processes and textiles. Our range of services includes in particular:

Softwaretools for Solving Problems in Industrial Contract Research
The work focuses on mathematical modelling, simulation and optimization (MMSO) of the dynamics of threads, fibres and filaments. The application focus here is on the design of industrial production processes for technical textiles.

Simulation and optimization of industrial dry spinning processes
The application areas of dry spinning processes range from textiles and nonwovens to lightweight components. We have also developed a simulation tool that maps dry spinning processes with hundreds or thousands of fibers. It captures both the full interaction of all fibers with the surrounding gas flow and the detailed diffusion of the solvent in each individual fiber.

Modeling the effective properties of textiles
Our »Flow and Material Simulation« department focuses on »Technical Textiles and Nonwovens« and researches methods for the appropriate treatment of nonwovens and technical textiles and their effective material properties. Our simulation tool »TexMath« provides us with particular support.

In the VISPI project, we are working together to develop simulation software with which a wide range of spinning processes can be virtually mapped and investigated.

The simulation tool FIDYST is a highly efficient software for the simulation of elastic filaments or fibres in turbulent flows.

FiltEST

Filter Element Simulation Toolbox.

Competences for modeling and simulation of filtration processes are bundled in our Filter Element Simulation Toolbox (FiltEST).

FeelMath

FeelMath is an advanced toolkit for nonlinear material simulation.

The analysis tool is easy and quick to use and is used to calculate effective mechanical and thermal properties of microstructures

TexMath

TexMath is a software tool for the simulation of knitted, woven and knitted fabrics.

Fibre structures and technical textiles can be modelled and simulated.
