Quantum computing and the so-called quantum superiority in accelerating certain calculations are undoubtedly attracting a lot of interest and attention in all industries at the moment. This conference will take a closer look at whether this is merely hype, or whether the current state of the art and its potential applications are indeed the future in finance.

Our colleagues Dr. Pascal Halffmann, Mark-Oliver Wolf and Dr. rer. nat. Ivica Turkalj from the department »Financial Mathematics« will give and discuss talks on »Quantum Computing at Fraunhofer ITWM«, »An Amplitude-Based Implementation of the Unit Step Function and application to Asian Options«, and »Calculation of Risk Measures on a Quantum Computer«.
